At Clover Hill Infant and Nursery School we understand that what our children learn through history can influence their personal choices, attitudes and values. Our history curriculum is underpinned by our school’s values. Through discussions about the past, children consider how respect, aspiration and perseverance are present in historical events and in the lives of significant individuals. Our learning encourages children to develop an appreciation of how past events shape the way we live today. Throughout the school our children learn about the history of themselves, the local area, Britain and the wider world, helping them to develop a sense of their place in the world. We aim to offer our children enriching, hands on experiences developing the children’s interest in the past, arousing their curiosity and motivation to learn.
